Wood Stove Info

Hello Chance and Matthew,

I would like to follow up on the wood stove for the house and make sure that the one we selected has the prep work done so that it will be easily installed.  We would like a  vendor or 2 of the stoves to come to the house and make sure the concrete and piping will work for this wood stove.  We want to use wood vs. gas and have settled on a stove for the Great room.  We would like to use our wood and wood that we can get for free to supplement the heat on really cold days to minimize the gas costs.  We would also enjoy a fire occasionally in the winter just for the joy of burning wood.

We are have chosen the Heathstone Equinox Woods stove that heats a large area for a long time on 25 inch logs for the great room.  We have found a couple of dealers in your area that deal with this brand of stove. We think Matthew may have contacted one of them.  We also found an internet based dealer with good information available online. WE am not sure how this would effect the design but maybe you could look at this website as it has all the clearances etc on it as well as work directly with one of the vendors below that we will purchase the stove from.

We have decided not to put one in the 4 season porch now that you have the piping ready for the in-floor heat in there.

We would also like our old gas stove that was in the house to be hooked up downstairs in the area near the walk in door.  We would like our old gas stove to be put in our basement family room for warming up after sledding or skating.  We would like that installed during the building phase if possible.
